Scope of Position:
Oversee all sales functions for the franchise and manage the sales representative network, as well as regional sales managers
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
List what the person must do to perform the job to meet standards
· Responsible for day-to-day communication. Sales bulletins, product information and the Mestek Sales Assistant web-site
· Effectively communicate market and product needs to the marketing and management team
· Control pricing, gross margins, and spending within each market
· Work with the marketing management team in selecting and developing and effective sales representative force
· Work with the representatives in implementing the marketing plans/programs and recommend adjustments or modifications to those plans as necessary to suit existing marketing conditions
· Work with the representatives on improving their effectiveness through product training, sales presentation, sales meetings, etc
· Travel with representatives to make sale calls on Wholesale and contractor customers
· Obtain product knowledge to be able to handle product questions and product presentations
· Establish relationships with various buying influences, engineers and contractors
· Select, develop and motivate the most effective sales people in each territory
· Become highly knowledgeable and experienced on the following;
o The competition
o Sales representatives
o Market trends
o Customers for the products within the Business Unit
· Perform other similar or related duties as required or requested
· Must know the value of working with and through Wholesale distribution in order to be successful at selling Mestek, Inc Wholesaler Products.
Position Requirements:
The National Sales Manager must possess the minimum knowledge listed below:
· College degree in business or engineering preferred but not essential
· Minimum 5 years experience in a managerial position in sales or marketing in HVAC industry
· Must have organizational skills and be detail oriented
· Ability to use computer software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook
· Must be ambitious and able to get along with others
· Ability to function under pressure and prioritize
· Must understand company policies
· Must be willing to travel nationally up to 50% of the time to include trade show events, including assisting with setting up and taking down shows
