Responsible for the design, development, certification and maintenance of a company product or products.

• Plans and organizes product design and development projects in accordance with Marketing/Sales specifications and company goals.  Prepares Project Authorization Requests with cost estimates, time and manpower requirements.  Works closely with a Chief Engineer, Engineering Manager or Vice President of Engineering to prepare above estimates.
• Develops engineering data and design calculations in compliance with engineering principles, company and industry standards and codes.
• Prepares sketches for prototypes, reviews overall design and releases drawings for prototypes.
• Directs testing and evaluation of prototyes.  If required, arranges for witness testing by the appropriate approval agencies.  Reports test results to various other agencies or organizations such as F.T.C., GAMA, ARI, etc.

Four to eight years in a related field plus a degree in engineering.  In lieu of an engineering degree, eight to fifteen years of experience in the specific field.

Annual salary - $51,000 - $60,000.

Provides engineering support for the DADANCO team as well as for Company customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Utilizes and aids in the software used by customers to make product selections
• Responds to building project inquiries and advises potential customers’ engineers on design and optimization of their HVAC systems using DADANCO technology
• Prepares technical schedules, summaries, and production schedules for factory production
• Serves as liaison with Plant Managers to:
1. Control the flow of orders
2. Provide the Plant Managers working blueprints (through drafters) required to manufacture modified and/or customized DADANCOproducts
• Travels – both U.S. and international – to provide on-site technical advice and support to DADANCO customers with regard to DADANCO technology

DADANCO products utilize unique nozzle and fluid dynamics technology. This patented technology provides very high air entrainment at low pressure drops. DADANCO products can typically provide unit selections with either greater capacity or reduced size when compared to others. This often results in cost savings due to a smaller number of units being installed or the use of smaller units. Units are made in the USA.

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering; including a working knowledge of psychrometric basics
• Knowledge of HVAC systems preferred
• Confident and competent when speaking to groups as well as one-on-one; able to communicate effectively on a technical level
• Able to maintain excellent working relationships with a wide variety of both internal and external customers; a good sense of humor will help
• Very capable in using Word, Excel and PowerPoint – with specific emphasis on exceptional Excel skills
• Must be a “team player” who demonstrates a strong work ethic and can work without close supervision

Responsible for the engineering of boiler products in support of the Sales, Marketing and Manufacturing functions with emphasis on application, design and performance capability.

1.  Collaborates with other boiler group members in the design and development of new products and the required literature and technical documentation for these products necessary to meet market demands.

2.  Collaborates with other boiler group members in redesigning existing products to meet customer and various agency requirements.  Collaborates with other engineers and group members to resolve installation issues whenever necessary.

3.  Compiles submittal materials, schedules certification testing and oversees the certification process for new or redsigned products.

4.  Performs a wide variety of engineering duties that include various calculations, the accumulation of application and performance data and the evaluation of various components and materials.

5. Provides engineering support to the Sales and Marketing departments.  Also provides engineering support to Manufacturing and Quality Control for resolving problems related to product assembly and to answer questions concerning component specifications and applications.

6.  Performs other job related duties as assigned.  Works under the supervision of senior engineers or Engineering Manager.

Requires a BSME and a basic knowledge of some pertinent engineering disciplines.

Zero to four years experience in a related field plus a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering.  A strong mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools a plus.

Be the driving force throughout more than a dozen Mestek manufacturing locations for Continuous Improvement efforts.

Engineering or technical related background.  Understanding of manufacturing, especially sheet metal fabrication and assembly.  Adept at concepts of "Lean Manufacturing".  Travel a must!  Ability to work with employees of all levels to facilitate change and minimize non-value added activity.

Air Products Division, responsible for providing application engineering and technical support of companies air products to independent sales representatives, sales/service department, and customers under the general direction and supervision of the Technical Services Manager.  References national and state code books to confirm that equipment application and installation complies with governing regulations such as NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, etc.  Reviews all special design variations with product engineers and manufacturing supervisors.  Prepare customer submittals for specifying engineers approval.  Analyses equipment plans, schedules, and specifications. Specific products include Sterling unit heaters, duct furnaces, engineered products and direct fired.  Provides engineering support and direction concerning equipment installation and operation.
