In 1978, Linel was an early entrant in the commercial skylight business. With a commitment to excellent design and expert craftsmanship, Linel emerged as a leading manufacturer of commercial skylights. In the mid-1990’s the company began concentrating on highly custom and unusual skylight projects. In addition, other custom architectural products, including aluminum plate panels, sunshades, and point supported glass canopies became part of the product offering. The focus on custom projects sparked the growth of Linel's manufacturing capabilities, including investments in large-scale CNC equipment and updates to the existing licensed kynar paint line. Linel is uniquely positioned to offer customers an in-house source for standard and custom color kynar finishes for skylights, aluminum plate panels, and sunshades. This capability reduces both project cost and lead time. Mestek, Inc. purchased Linel in 2012. The Mestek family of companies manufactures a wide variety of products, with an emphasis on expert engineering and annual sales revenue of over $400 million. Backed by the financial strength of Mestek, Linel can undertake the largest projects, with bonding capacity of $50 million for a single project
